Common Symptoms
Common Symptoms of Back Pain:
The most obvious symptom of back pain is, of course, pain in the back! But there can be many other symptoms from back problems, as well. 
- Muscle spasm is common. The muscles in your back tense up in response to injury.
- Soreness. After a back injury, the tissues around your spine become inflamed, which causes soreness.
- Stiffness or persistent aching along your spine
- Ache in middle or lower back, especially after standing or sitting for long periods
- Localized, sharp pain in upper or lower back and neck, especially after participating in strenuous activity or lifting something heavy
Serious Symptoms with Back Pain:
These symptoms are more serious and need to be checked out by doctor right away.
- Tingling sensations or shooting pain down the leg or loss of control of an arm or legs (This could be associated with sciatica.)
- Pain intensifies when you bend down or cough. (This could be associated a herniated disc).
- Dull pain in one area of spine (If you are over the age of 50, this may be sign of osteoarthritis).
- Burning during urination or strong-smelling urine (This could be a sign of a bacterial urinary tract infection).
